The film uses archive footage, interviews, and covert audio recordings made by Francis Ford Coppola’s wife, Eleanor Coppola, to piece together the various challenges faced during the production of Francis Ford Coppola’s famous Vietnam War epic “Apocalypse Now.” Poor weather, casting concerns, actor health issues, and a war still raging near production locations in the Philippines made for a particularly tough filmmaking experience for the uniquely triumphant picture.
