Even though Walken is known for playing villains, just one of them has ever truly offended him. He admitted to The Guardian that Robert, the deceitful stalker he portrayed in The Comfort of Strangers in the 1990s, was difficult to forget. The star acknowledged, “That guy got to me. I couldn’t put my finger on why, but he did. I didn’t want him hanging around and, for a while after the film wrapped, I couldn’t get rid of him.”

Rumors of animosity between Walken, co-stars Nicole Kidman and Glenn Close, and director Frank Oz abounded for The Stepford Wives. However, Walken claimed that he had a terrific time and that the reports were untrue at all times.
