Rather of having pools for sports teams, the Simpsons kids have pools for who will win the next Nobel Prize. They foresaw a future victor and the category in which he would triumph! Six years after the show aired, Bengt Holmstrom was awarded the prize in the category of Economics. As you can see, he was in the show’s lineup in that area.

London was fifteen years in the future in a 1995 episode. Aside from the well-known Big Ben, the London skyline also includes a structure that was not built until many years later. That angular, black structure could not have existed in the 1990s. The Shard, the black pointed structure seen in the 1995 episode, was not completed until 2013. It mimics the one from The Simpsons not just in look but also in location.
