A little suspicious
Mrs. Goodheart considered his need for routine unusual, especially given his five German Shephard dogs. She assumed his house was filled with hair, shattered furniture, and chewed-up shoes. However, she rapidly discovered that her neighbour had done an excellent job of training the German Shepherd dogs. They even walked without a leash! They simply glued to their owner’s side like glue. After Jake had been in his new neighborhood for a few months, Mrs. Goodheart had many more neighbors on her side. They all thought Jake was unusual, but they couldn’t figure out what. Mrs. Goodheart was seventy years old and couldn’t do much about it, but one neighbour could: Steven, Mrs. Goodheart’s seventeen-year-old grandson.

A Little Suspicious
Steven had enough
Steven, who lived just a few houses down the street, was privy to all of the talk surrounding Jake and his strange dogs. Jake seemed to be the most popular topic of talk in the neighborhood, and Steven couldn’t get away from the whispers. Tired with the gossip and captivated by the mystery surrounding Jake, Steven vowed to find out the truth once and for all. Was Jake simply a creature of habit, or did his rituals conceal something deeper? Steven’s decision became clear as Jake walked by on a crisp morning. With resolution burning in his breast, Steven quickly put on his shoes and coat, ready to shadow Jake and peel back the layers of mystery surrounding his neighbor’s life. In that fleeting moment, Steven went on a journey that would test his beliefs and reveal things he had never dreamed conceivable.
