The late Paula Deen was previously a well-known culinary show mom who appeared on series such as Top Chef, MasterChef, and Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, and even had a cameo in a feature film called Elizabethtown. However, her professional life would come to a grinding halt in 2012 as a result of multiple racially insensitive comments. She received a rapid response from the Food Network after her assertions were proven in district court. The network declined her request to renew her contract, despite her several video apologies.

Griffin made headlines in May 2017 when she uploaded a photo of herself clutching a bloodied Donald Trump mannequin head. According to her, she was making fun of President Donald Trump’s claim that journalist Megyn Kelly had “blood coming out of her wherever.” Unfortunately for Kathy, she was fired from her scheduled employment with CNN as well as from her Squatty Potty endorsement contract due to scheduling conflicts. Griffin expressed regret, stating that the joke had gone too far and adding, “I don’t think I’ll be able to have a career after this.” I’m going to be really honest with you: he broke me.” It was decided to cancel her entire standup tour when most of the theaters got threatening letters for hosting her performances.
