Among the firefighters, there was confusion about why the mother was not with her children. In the first place, being there was completely illogical for the babies. It would have made more sense if they were in the wild, but that has not been the case.

Are They Abandoned?
Before they could move ahead with the rescue, the firemen had to figure out the configuration of the sewer first. It is possible that the animals’ mother and father were there, but they were spooked when the firefighters arrived. They have yet to find out what animals they have rescued.
