At the time, Joyce was 96 years old but she had good hearing and was completely lucid. Carla Spizzirri thought this was impressive since she has to speak loudly when talking to her own grandmother. It was a nice surprise to see Joyce had taken care of herself throughout the years, but the real surprise was waiting for the sisters inside the house. In fact, this surprise was more remarkable.
