Color Obsession
In those days, there was an obsession with bright colors and many people started decorating their homes using loud tones of green, yellow, and red. Even small houses were decorated with bright colors, which was attributed to people looking forward to a brighter future after the war. Nevertheless, there were still people who went for soft pastel colors instead. You can just imagine how colorful everything must have been in those days with vivid and pastel colors.

Joyce was very much inspired moving to Bloor West Village and she transformed the humble house. In fact, the house was like a portal to the 1950s since the appliances, furniture pieces, colors, and home decors were kept the same. However, another unique thing about the elderly woman was her ability to make her house look like it didn’t age a single day. This was the reason why everything seemed preserved and even brand new. Joyce was very particular about preserving the place.
