We just seem to have a fascination with film stars who have dated don’t we? It’s probably because sometimes an on-screen chemistry can look so real, it just seems unbelievable that the two aren’t dating (or hooking up at the very least). Often, however, our suspicions are revealed to be true! Take a look at some of the couples who got together for real after dating on screen!
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt – Mr. & Mrs. Smith
At one time, this pair was certainly the ‘power-couple’ of Hollywood. The two worked together as the leads on action-romance film Mr. & Mrs. Smith, and the on-screen chemistry seemed too real to be fake. Pitt was married to Jennifer Aniston at the time, and when it was announced that they were getting divorced, rumors circulated that it was because of Jolie. Rumors were confirmed months later when it was revealed that Jolie was pregnant, with Pitt the father. Jolie and Pitt finally married in 2014, but they were divorced only two years later.

Vanessa Hudgens and Zac Efron – High School Musical
Was this truly the start of something new? Well, we all hoped so! High School Musical was a major success when it hit our screens on Disney Channel, with Troy and Gabriella (Efron and Hudgens) becoming adored for their on-screen relationship. The chemistry again felt too real and the pair began dating in real life! “Right off the bat, we had a connection, I think everybody could see it,” Hudgens revealed to Glamour in 2010. “Now, I guess [we have a mature relationship]. I think that we inspire each other. [I love] having someone to grow with.” Unfortunately, their sweet courtship came to it’s conclusion later that year.

Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson – Twilight
Fans of the Twilight saga are certainly a passionate people. Choosing Team Edward or Team Jacob was truly an all-out war for these fans, after all we’re sure choosing between Taylor Lautner and Robert Pattinson is quite the conundrum. Not only did we get a cool werewolves vs vampire movie, but the film gave us a real-life couple in Stewart and Pattinson!

Jennifer Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult – X-Men
These two found love together after acting alongside each other in the X-Men franchise. The pair are professionals however, and continued working together on set without issue despite breaking up in 2014 following four years of dating. Jennifer’s biggest role is still probably her time as Katniss Everdeen in the Hunger Games franchise, while some might remember Hoult from his earlier role as Tony Stonem in British comedy-drama Skins.

Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield – The Amazing Spider-Man
Another former couple who ended on good terms is Spider-Man duo, Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone. The two had unbelievable chemistry during the two films in which they appeared together, and while the franchise received mixed reviews for the story itself, both of their acting was praised for each film. Stone told Vogue in 2015 that her ex is “someone I still love very much.” While Garfield has called himself her “her biggest fan.” It’s a shame it didn’t work out for these two.

Kirsten Dunst And Tobey Maguire – Spider-Man
Maybe there’s something else in that Spider venom other than super powers? Love seems to blossom between co-stars of Spider-Man films, and Dunst and Maguire were actually the first. The pair first got together on the set of Spider-Man, but had split in 2002 prior to production of Spider-Man 2. The couple certainly kept it professional and worked excellently together for the remaining two films despite the split.

Zendaya And Tom Holland – (MCU) Spider-Man
You’re kidding, another spider-couple?! We need to see what they’re putting in the water over at that film studio. Zendaya and Tom Holland have quickly become a fan-favorite couple, with fans adoring how they are together. Zendaya is Tom’s MJ and the couple seem to have even better chemistry off screen. We hope these two work out.

Jenna Dewan and Channing Tatum – Step Up
Perhaps the greatest dance-movie of all time, Step Up would be nothing without the chemistry of Jenna Dewan and Channing Tatum. Their characters slowly built up a relationship in the film, and this clearly transferred over to real life! The pair dated, got married and even have a daughter together! Unfortunately, they divorced in 2018. This fact can easily be ignored next time you watch Step Up however!

Rose Leslie and Kit Harington – Game of Thrones
Jon Snow was a solid leader on the show and became an integral character of the wildings. A relationship that he is most known for is that with first love Ygritte. Who knew that real Jon Snow, Kit Harington, felt the same! Rose Leslie (Ygritte) is now his wife! “I met my wife in this show, so in that way, it gave me my future family and my life from here on in,” he’s told about meeting Leslie on the set of Game of Thrones. “That’s the main thing it did for me.” Cute.

Jennifer Aniston and Tate Donovan – Friends
This one is a little different actually… Jennifer and Tate had actually dated prior to Tate’s several-episode arc on popular sitcom Friends. “I was just happy to be on the team. The only bummer was Jennifer and I were breaking up at the time,” he told Us Weekly in 2018. “And so that was tricky to sort of act, and act like we are just meeting each other, and falling in love, or whatever, interested in each other, when we’re sort of breaking up. That was just tough.”
